 In 1972, President Ho Ming-Shiann started CMP following the spirit of “diligence and integrity, sustainable corporate development”. The company was founded by 3 schoolmates with NT$1 million, after more than 30 years of leadership by President Ho, CMP today consists of more than 4,500 employees at locations through out both sides of Taiwan strait, capital has exceeded NT$2.6 billion. In recent years, the company has successfully transformed into a holding entity that encompasses 5 major division of operation ranging from manufacturing, raw material sales, residential real estate development, commercial real estate, retail outlet management and hotel management. With respect to manufacturing, CMP first started as an iron foundry. Since 1992, the company had begun relocating production facility to Mainland China and had become one of the largest foundries in Great China region, the company is public traded in Taiwan (1532TT) and Hong Kong (0319HK). CMI, public listed in HK, is the main source of profit for company’s manufacturing business as it operates a total of 4 facilities in Tianjing, Suzhou and mainly engages in the sales of automotive parts, electrical components and other mechanical parts. At the material sales division, it mainly engages in the sales of cast iron, raw material of casting, and steel for construction purpose. CMP is the largest supplier of cast iron in Taiwan. In 2002, the company launched sales operation for steel and had become one of the main suppliers of construction steel in northern Taiwan. Furthermore, efforts were spent to vertically integrate casting, raw material supply, machining, automotive part manufacturing and international logistic and warehouse service. In addition, manufacturing, machining and sales facilities had been established in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou, Fuzhou, Tianjing, Yokohama of Japan, and Detroit of USA, in an attempt to meet customer demand and create an one-stop service of highest quality thus making the company a truly unique metallic material supplier in Asia Pacific region. Residential real estate division is under operation of PUJEN Construction. The name suggests a return to the origin as the company has been known for introducing fine residential developments emphasizing on the human touch in premium locations throughout Taipei. Among the company’s many development projects, the one situated right across Da-An Forest Park and was first introduced in 2007 has been the best known as it had once set the record of highest priced residential development per unit. This particular development had been focusing on internal refinement and external environment to achieve a balance between people and surrounding objects therefore this project pioneered a trend of respecting natural environment and practical landscaping in Taiwan’s residential real estate market. Commercial real estate and retail outlet management division was established in 2007 and it is responsible in operating 2 major shopping centers namely, Parklane by CMP and Splendor Shopping Arcade in Taichung. These are shopping establishments in prime commercial district in each respective location and each occupies a different market segment while featuring unique characteristics that meets different needs in order to generate stable rental income and returns. Hotel management operation was established in 2006, in addition to investing in Splendor Hotel, the company also owns Hotel National of Taichung City. In 2009, thanks to a series of renovation efforts, this hotel of rich histories was given brand new appearance; CMP is not only the largest operator of 5-Star hotels in Taichung, the company also showcases its ability in meeting demands for high quality service and diversifying its business portfolio.
